Chris left for boot camp yesterday. 16 week in Missouri. He told me not to worry. He doesn't realize I've been wired to do that since the moment he was born.
It's going to be a long day/week/month/year/4 years.
He will be ok Bob. Stay strong, it's going to be a rough road ahead. Pray everyday that he stays safe, and let him know you love him every chance you get. If there is anything I can do ...let me know.
You're in my prayers, Bob. What a bittersweet moment for you, probably filled with both pride and concern.
Your son is lucky to have a dad to whom he can say "Don't worry" and know the instructions won't be followed. There are many young boys/men out there yearning for a father to "not worry" about them.

Thank you, Red (Michael?) for the kind words. They, along with your thoughts, are greatly appreciated.
Jenn, know I have such a great friend in you brings me more comfort than you can imagine. I cannot thank you enough for that.
